The Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego is honored to be partnering with Catholic in Recovery, a nonprofit mission that blends 12-step addiction recovery with the sacramental life of the Catholic Church. This joint venture furthers local and national efforts to provide hope and healing for individuals and families experiencing the devastating effects of addiction.
Catholic in Recovery was founded in 2015 by Scott Weeman, whose personal experience with addiction recovery led him to find the Catholic Church. The first Catholic in Recovery fellowship began at St. Joseph Cathedral downtown San Diego, and now there are over 40 Catholic in Recovery groups across 10 different states around the country, saving many lives and restoring families one at a time. An alliance with the Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego ensures that Catholic in Recovery can expand to meet the great demand for Catholic addiction recovery resources while ushering many people into the Catholic Church.
