The Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego is honored to be partnering with
Children of the Immaculate Heart. Founded in October 2013 by Grace Williams Lionello, CIH serves survivors of sex trafficking in San Diego. In addition to 8 years of experience assisting trafficked women and their children, last September they started a residential therapeutic program for minors.
St. Bakhita’s Adult Program currently serves 7 women and their 16 children. For each survivor and their dependents, CIH addresses specific needs in housing, therapy, groceries, transportation, job training & placement, continued education, legal services, and much more. The Refuge is a state-licensed Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program, built for 12-17 year-olds rescued from sex trafficking. A round-the-clock staff provides residential, therapeutic, and educational services for up to six teenage girls.
